Dar Młodzieży Sets Sail for Antwerp

Dar Młodzieży set off on another training voyage yesterday, 17th March 2022, after undergoing repairs during two months spent in port in Gdynia.

The training sailing ship set sail for Antwerp with a group of maritime school pupils from Zespoł Szkól Morskich in Gdansk, where they will be joined on board by another 95 students and instructors from the local Maritime Academy. The ship will then journey on to Cadiz with the students and crew celebrating Easter at sea before returning to Antwerp on 22nd April. From here, new groups of students will take their place with the ship scheduled to visit Hamburg, Rouen and Cologne. A visit by GMU representatives to the University of Rostock, the ship's first port of call following the raising of the flag on its mast in 1982, is also planned.

July 2022 will mark 40 years of service of the "White Frigate". Celebrations of the 40th anniversary of Dar Młodzieży will be held on University Celebration Day in June. The milestone will be marked with the release of an album on the history of the ship and a seminar. Commemorative souvenirs will also be made available for purchase.
