Director of GMU Technology Transfer Office Attends World Intellectual Property Day Conference

On 23.04.2024, the Director of the GMU Technology Transfer Office, Dr Magdalena Kukowska-Kaszuba, took part in a conference on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day organised by the Polish Patent Office in collaboration with the Warsaw University of Technology and partners the World Intellectual Property Organisation, the European Patent Office, and the EU Intellectual Property Office.

Intellectual Property Day is celebrated each year on 26 April. This year's principal topic is "IP and the SDGs [Sustainable Development Goals]: Building Our Common Future with Innovation and Creativity.”

During the Conference, an important and inspiring discussion was held with experts from WIPO, EPO and EUIPO, representatives of the University of Warsaw, as well as experts from the field of green innovation and sustainable development in an effort to draw the attention of the world of science and business to the importance of achieving the goals of the global development agenda in a 2030 perspective. Many legal and executive aspects related in particular to meeting goals attesting to the high quality of education and innovation at the University, as well as the partnership working towards their attainment, were addressed.

The honorary patron of the event was the Ministry of Development and Technology, which acts as a monitoring unit for Poland's implementation of the action plan for world change as part of the Sustainable Development Agenda set out at the summit in New York on 25-27 September 2015 by the leaders of the member states of the UN.
