GMU Delegation Attends Exhibitions in Poznań

On 23 April 2004, staff from the GMU Technology Transfer Office, Beata Wetoszka and Marlena Żur-Lewandowska, together with scientists from the Department of Marine Electronics of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Dr Kalina Detka and Dr Przemysław Ptak, took part in an exhibition event in Poznań, which incorporated EXPOWER, GREENPOWER, INSTALACJA, and Securex exhibitions.

The Technology Transfer Office presented the University’s R&D, technology, and cooperation with business services in the event’s Science and Start-ups Zone. Especially promoted were GMU innovations related to the topic of the event, namely:

  • A Multi-hybrid electrical power supply system,
  • A ship-wide electrical energy monitoring system for electrical machines and devices,
  • A new composite material based on carbonisates for the manufacturing of construction components with electrical isolation parameters,

A polyester-glass-rubber sandwich panel with impact sound suppression and sound insulation parameters.

GMU researchers visited the exhibition area, familiarising themselves with the solutions presented by Polish and foreign companies in industrial energy, automation, lighting, control, and low, medium and high voltage installations.

The Poznań exhibition is the biggest international event of its kind, which brings together companies from the heating, air-conditioning, and renewable energy industries. The event’s Science and Start-ups zone is a notable area where the inventors of new technologies and spin-off companies from universities present their work. The event also provides an excellent opportunity to establish relations between science and business, as it is precisely in these circumstances that professionals look for innovation in their own industries.

We would like to thank the Special Purpose Companies Agreement, Technology Transfer Centres Agreement and the MTP Group for organising the Science and Start-up zone, and for the opportunity to present GMU’s services for business.
