Professor Piotr Przybyłowski Receives Romuald Kolman Pomerania Quality Award

Professor Krzysztof Przybyłowski has been recognised with the Professor Romuald Kolman Pomerania Quality Individual Award, for his work in the popularisation of pro-quality management concepts in the Gdańsk-Pomeranian region.

The ceremony for the presentation of the awards took place for the 26th time on 19 April 2024. At the Dom Technika in Gdańsk.  The ceremony was opened by the President of the Pomeranian Council of the Polish Federation of Engineering Associations (FSNT NOT) Professor Bożenna Kawalec-Pietrenko.

The first part of the event featured a conference entitled  “Quality and Innovation in the Development of Pomerania”, during which several experts gave presentations.

During the conference, Professor Piotr Przybyłowski, the Head of the Department of Quality Management at the GMU Faculty of Management and Quality Science, spoke on the search for tools in the measurement of quality of life. Professor Małgorzata Wiśniewska of the University of Gdańsk discussed the cost of quality and Professor Arleta Szadziewska, also of the University of Gdańsk, gave a talk on reporting sustainable development. Dr Joanna Martusewicz, the CEO of the Development Foundation of the Wrocław University of Economics and Business, encouraged participants to take part in the EFQM Global Award, whereas Angelika Piechocka discussed sustainable development at company PPHU Polipack.

The second part of the event saw the presentation of Gold and Silver awards, Distinctions and Special Awards in recognition of the successes of regional organisations and institutions.

The Romuald Kolman Individual Award was given to Professor Piotr Przybyłowski for his work in the popularisation of pro-quality management concepts.

The event came to a close following a discussion panel during which talks focused on meeting sustainable development goals. Taking part in the discussion were the winners of the 26th edition of the competition for the Pomerania Quality Award.

The honorary Patrons of this year’s event were: The Pomeranian Governor, the Marshall of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, and the Majors of  Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot, Wejherowo, and Słupsk.

 


Pomerania Quality Award

The first Pomerania Quality Award ceremony was held in 1997 to popularise quality as a method in all aspects of business management.

The Pomeranian Quality Award is awarded to entities that show a commitment to quality management based on the idea of continuous improvement, innovation and sustainable development and aspire to the level of leading organisations in Europe. It is a team award granted in several categories: micro, small, medium, and large organisations - regardless of the number of employees.

The Individual Romuald Kolman Pomerania Quality Award is given to those who have demonstrated an exceptional contribution to the popularisation of pro-quality management concepts in the Gdańsk-Pomeranian region.
