A Busy Week Promoting GMU As Summer Approaches
With the weather finally taking a turn for the better, GMU representatives have been out and about promoting the University during a busy week. Where have we been and what’s next?
27 May 2025 – Careers and Enterprise Fair
On 27 May, we were guests at the Careers and Enterprise Fair at the POLSAT Plus Arena in Gdynia. The education offered by the University attracted a deal of interest and many leaflets with information on our degree programmes were taken home by potential future GMU students. It’s never too late to improve your professional qualifications. Sometimes, the only thing that stands in the way of a promotion or a change of career is the right qualifications - this is certainly worth remembering when making important life-changing decisions!
28 May – Jabłonowo Pomorskie
The next day we headed for the beautiful Jabłonowo in the region of Kujawsko-pomorskie. Here, at an educational fair held under the slogan Open Doors, our reps encouraged more young enthusiastic people to consider a career based on the skills and qualifications offered at Gdynia Maritime University. We were glad to hear how you asked in detail about the specifics of degrees offered at GMU.
31 May – Family Festival at the Catholic Combined Primary and Secondary School in Obłuże
We completed the week at the Family Festival Catholic Combined Primary and Secondary School in Obłuże. For the second year running, we were invited to attend the School’s joyous celebration. This year’s event took place on the eve of Children’s Day. We enjoy these types of events for their distinct format from standard trade fair events: smiling faces, dancing, and friendly interactions. Children are the future and the Gdynia school “Katolik” produces outstanding graduates, many of whom choose to study at our University. Nevertheless, we want to encourage more of them to continue their education at our University.
So what’s next? The Maritime Festival of Science!
This new week is no less interesting. On Thursday there will be the Maritime Festival of Science, which will close with a Maritime Picnic – a truly summery event, which will include the singing of shanty songs, demonstrations by our student scientific circles and others, fun and games for our youngest visitors, and maritime refreshments in a welcoming atmosphere. What’s more, a special surprise has been prepared for all the children! The Festival provides another occasion to experience the exceptional atmosphere at our University and life as part of our academic community. We hope to see you there. But if that’s not enough... The opportunity remains to become permanently connected with our University as a GMU student and graduate – to make your mark in the history of our distinguished University.
