From 14 to 16 May 2025, an international seminar on “Promoting Mobilities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in Higher Education”, organised by OeAD, Department of International Cooperation in Higher Education, the Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalisation (as part of Erasmus+ TCA – Training and Cooperation Activities) was held in Vienna. The event was attended by 127 participants from 23 European countries.

Poland was represented by just two individuals chosen by the organisers of the event: Antonina Kalinichenko, Associate Professor at the University of Opole, and Dorota Barzowska, Head of the International Cooperation Department at Gdynia Maritime University.

The seminar, which was built around workshops, project work and discussion panels, created a platform for networking and making contacts within the higher education sector, with particular emphasis on projects related to international exchange and mobility aimed at supporting students and university staff in going abroad for studies, internships, and teaching. The event aimed to support and increase the number of student and academic staff exchanges, mainly within the Erasmus+ programme, in the exact sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), through the identification of obstacles, exchange of experiences and best practices, as well as international partnerships with institutes from all over Europe.
