HM The Rector Gives Talk at European Navigation Conference 2025

On 21 to 23 May 2025, HM The Rector of GMU, Professor Adam Weintrit, will participate in the European Navigation Conference 2025. This year’s conference is being held in Wrocław, Poland, and is hosted by the Polish Navigation Forum (PNF), in collaboration with the European Group of Institutes of Navigation (EUGIN).

ENC 2025 is dedicated to the latest advancements in navigation, including in the area of safety. During the event, an international team of experts will also discuss global navigation systems, the challenges associated with the implementation of unmanned technologies, as well as advanced applications. In relation to new technologies, discussions will focus on the skills required to effectively operate new technologies to their fullest potential.

HM The Rector of GMU, Professor Adam Weintrit, who is Deputy Chair of the Polish Navigation Forum, will take part in the conference’s opening plenary session, during which he will discuss the challenges associated with autonomous shipping in a talk entitled “E-Navigation versus Autonomous, the challenge for pilots”.

The second day of the conference will see experts gather for a panel session on future trends in navigation systems, technologies, products and services, under the title “Future Trends in Navigation”. The final event of the conference will be a panel session on the potential benefits of Low Earth Orbit PNT in the context of GNSS systems.
